The Second Crayon

For the child who chose second - and for the one who was told to wait

The red crayon was chosen first.
Everyone wanted red. Red was fast, bright, loud.

But one little hand reached for blue.
Not because red wasn’t nice.
But because blue felt… calm.

The red crayon drew firetrucks and racing shoes.
The blue crayon drew waves and quiet skies.

Nobody said who won.
Because it wasn’t about winning.
It was about choosing the color that matched your inside.

Try This:
Offer two crayons. Ask, “Which one feels like you today?”
Don’t ask why. Just draw.
